Worldpress Photo

Wieder einmal wurden die besten Pressefotos gewählt - das Worldpress Photo stammt von dem indischen Photographen Arko Datta, der für die Narichtenagentur Reuters Bilder der Flutkatastrophe gemacht hat.

"Das Pressebild ist ein Dokument des Schmerzes, der Trauer, der
Verzweiflung - aber auch des Respekts im Umgang mit den
Hunderttausenden, die auf grausame Weise durch die Flutwelle starben,
die Indien, Sri Lanka, Thailand und ganz besonders die indonesische
Provinz Banda Aceh getroffen hat." so die Jury.
